Where the RVU values come from
The core code and locality datasets use the CMS 2026 April Physician Fee Schedule release (RVU26B). The library also includes an extended code catalog. A page update date describes the page, not a new CMS data release.
CMS can revise values during the year. Check the current release and applicable payment policy before relying on a value for a claim or contract reconciliation.

Work RVUs represent one component of a service. Total RVUs also include practice expense and malpractice components. The code library estimates national non-facility payment with GPCI values of 1; actual Medicare payment varies with locality, setting, clinician status, and applicable adjustments.
A compensation rate per work RVU is a contract term. It is not the Medicare conversion factor. Planning examples use stated assumptions and do not establish market pay or predict your earnings.
How to use the editorial guides
